Step IT Up

This is an opportunity for Year 10 and 11 students to undertake an intensive one week program that will include:

  1. Workshops on game development, web design, database, programming and multimedia. Students will be divided between computer lab studios and meeting rooms and assigned hands on practical tasks.

  2. Tours of Caulfield Campus including the IT Museum

  3. Discussion Groups facilitated by IT industry, academic and/or university students. Topics to include student life, study experience and social aspects (clubs and societies), IT industry and employment and trends.

Time: 9.30am - 3.30pm
Numbers: 20 in each week
Location: Level 6, Building H, Caulfield campus
Cost: No cost to students

Prerequisite: Year 11 students must be enrolled in or have completed units 1 and 2 General Maths or Math Methods.

The 20 students will be broken into two groups and assigned to a project to build a basic computer game. Each project will begin with a project plan and end with a product presentation (a project development cycle).

The activity is in conjunction with Monash Discovery week and the IMVC Career and Transition Program.
