- Abstract:
- Recent tendencies in Systems Biology require the acquisition of massive amounts of confocal data and images, in conjunction with automated detection of cell-specific features and rare events. An extension to the Leica TCS SP5 is described, which has been optimized for these tasks by flexible pattern screening with several autofocus modes.
This new approach to Leica Open Innovation will be achieved by providing open interfaces to integrate 3rd party image analysis software and to enable concurrent data exporting to Network attached Storage Servers for handling large data sets. The Mitocheck research project (www.mitocheck.org) is an example of a successful project collaboration of partners adapting to open standards. The gained project experiences and implemented prototype solutions in the course of this project serve as a base for this new product which is developed at Leica Microsystems and will be available in the near future.
At this early stage an overview of the main principles and features of this new solution will be presented.
- Speaker biographies:
- Stefan is R&D project coordinator (software) at Leica Microsystems, responsible for special projects with high-end scientific demands. Stefan has worked on integration of imaging technologies such as the first Leica real time fast resonant working scanner, and the 4PI Microscope project team which developed and build in license a microscope developed by of Dr. Stefan Hell.
