Equal opportunities online training for staff

Equal opportunity (EO) online training is now available for all staff

What is it?

EO Online Training provides information on basic rights and responsibilities for staff. It has been designed as an introduction to equal opportunity at Monash for new staff and to provide ongoing staff with an opportunity to update their knowledge on a regular basis.

EO Online Training is a prerequisite for face-to-face training offered by the Equity and Diversity Centre. Face-to-face training is provided for any staff wanting greater familiarity with the University's policies and procedures and the development of specific skills for dealing with, responding to and managing equal opportunity related grievances.

What's in it?

EO Online Training should take around 60 minutes. The training consists of four modules and three quizzes:

  • Legal Overview (followed by a quiz)
  • Sexual Harassment and the Law (followed by a quiz)
  • Staff and Student Equity, and
  • Disability Law and Access (followed by a quiz).

These modules can be undertaken in any order at any time. A perfect score on all three quizzes is required to successfully complete the EO Online Training. There is no time limit for completion of quizzes or to the number of times a quiz can be attempted.

To supplement the EO Online Training there are links to related Monash University Information, support services and professional development opportunities, as well as supplementary information on Human Rights legislation, equal opportunity for women, disability legislation and community support services.
