Monash University Indigenous Archives Scholarship

Monash University, the National Archives of Australia and the Public Record Office of Victoria, are offering a scholarship for people who identify as Indigenous Australians or Torres Strait Islanders to undertake a Masters degree or Graduate Diploma specialising in Electronic record keeping and Archives.

This scholarship initiative is linked to the Bringing Them Home report, which recommended that Indigenous archivists be involved in archival projects that enable Indigenous people to locate records and that scholarships should be provided for Indigenous archivists who wish to gain professional qualifications.

The Monash University Indigenous Archives Scholarship, which will commence in Semester 1, 2006, is a full equity scholarship for studies is a full equity scholarship for studies undertaken in the School of Information Management and Systems at the Caulfield Campus of Monash University. The degrees can be undertaken via on campus study or off campus learning and in full-time or part-time mode. Mentoring and internships will also be available for recipients of this scholarship.
