IT Careers Forum at Caulfield campus
Five notable IT employers recently attended Monash University especially to speak with Faculty of Information Technology students about their careers and opportunities that exist in the market place. Approximately 200 students attended the session.
The event began with a job ready workshop (presented by Monash University Careers and Employment department). The workshop informed students to how to create a strong resume, a job application letter and discussed interview skills and techniques.
These themes were further explored by the ANZ, Coles Group, Deloitte, GE Money and Microsoft. The representatives also discussed what it’s like to work in their company; IT and graduate jobs that are available; their recruitment process and criteria; and other opportunities that exist. Additionally, all companies made themselves available for personal questions from students at the completion of the presentations.
This was the second event of this kind and the Faculty has received positive feedback from employers and students alike.
The Faculty of Information Technology would like to thank all representatives from ANZ, Coles Group, Deloitte, GE Money and Microsoft, and the Careers and Employment department for their valuable contributions to the event. A special thank you is extended to Professor Michael Vitale for his presentation about the Master of Business (Commercialisation and Technology). Click here for more information about this degree.
