New display at the Monash Computing Museum
A new display at the Monash Museum of Computing History, at the Caulfield campus of Monash University, was opened in April 2008 to recognise the work of Professor John Rosenberg and Professor David Abramson. Both professors started their academic careers at Monash University in the 1970s. The Museum display features their work at Monash University.
John’s career reflects both his ability as an innovator in the field of computer science education and as an academic administrator. David’s career also shows the strong tradition of innovative research in computer science at Monash and his latest work highlights the current direction of e-Research at Monash University.
Professor John Rosenberg gained his doctorate in Computer Science from Monash University in 1979 and was later Dean of the Monash Faculty of Information Technology from 1997 to 2003. He is currently Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) at Deakin University.
Professor David Abramson studied at Monash University and received his doctorate in Computer Science in 1982. He has continued to develop his research work at Monash University and specialises in grid computing or the combination of large numbers of computers.
The Museum is located at the Caulfield campus, Monash University, 900 Dandenong Road, Caulfield East 3145. The exhibition space is located in Building B, Level 2 Foyer. The display is open to the public on weekdays from 10 a.m. -5.00 p.m.
