What is the Enterprise Services (ES) Graduate Program?

It's a two-year placement designed to focus your development by equipping you with a wide variety of industry leading skills and experiences. You will be placed in an area aligned to your specific development needs, with many opportunities to excel on a range of IT related projects and activities.

As well as a competitive salary and entitlements, you will also receive a $4,000 training budget each year for externally provided technical training to accelerate your development.

The program is big on networking - with various grad forums, industry training, and many other formal and informal networking opportunities. You will get to know at least another 100 fellow graduates from other areas within your first week - an extremely beneficial and valuable start to establishing your own personal network.

You may also have the opportunity to work on projects with other graduates outside your normal role, allowing you to gain exposure and recognition in the broader ES community.

What will I do in my first year?

The diverse scope of ES means that every grad's experience during their first year will be unique. No matter where you are, you will be an integral team member with accountability to complete interesting, challenging work assignments.

Mitch Blain, who joined the ES graduate program in February 2008, had this to say about his first year: 'On joining the team, I was thrown right into the project initiation phase, gathering requirements from our stakeholders, then writing business requirements, then to system configuration, to testing, to post go-live support. My first year has been a fantastic experience - and that doesn't even include the social aspect.'

What can I expect on completion?

Your specialisation will place you in a prime position to progress to more complex and senior roles such as a Business Analyst, Technical Analyst, Developer / Programmer, or Project Manager. You, your mentor and your manager will work together to determine the best role for you from the many opportunities that are available.
