2011 University rankings

Monash University has achieved an enviable national and international reputation for research and teaching excellence in a short 50 years. Monash is ranked in the top 1 per cent of world universities which is more than 6000 educational institutions worldwide.

Recently Monash achieved its best result ever in the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) compiled by Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Monash has moved up more than 70 places in the last five years and in the latest round now sits at the top of the 151-200 band, estimated at 159th in the world. Also for both ARWU Field (Engineering/Technology and Computer Sciences) and ARWU Subject (Computer Science) categories, Monash ranked higher in the 76-100 band.
