Teaching excellence awards - 2011

In 2008, the Faculty introduced the "Teaching Excellence Awards".

These awards are used to:

  • celebrate the importance of excellent teaching
  • recognise and reward excellent teachers
  • identify potential teachers and projects for further nominations for awards within the University, Australia and overseas.

Award categories
There are three categories of awards:

Early August Nomination forms open for students and staff
  Nominees are notified automatically when nominations come throught; staff invited to prepare applications
28th October Nomination forms close
October Nominated staff invited to submit applications (written statement, support material and nomination form)

21st November

Mid November

End November

Nominations
Staff and students are invited to nominate a teacher, staff or support service within the Faculty of IT that you think deserve recognition. Nominations are available: https://secure.monash.edu/infotech/resources/staff/academic-award/. Staff and students can nominate a teacher, staff or support service up until 28th October 2011.

Submission process for staff
In order to be considered for an award, nominated staff will need to include a nomination form and for team-based awards, a Team peer review proforma, and submit their application as a .zip file at https://secure.monash.edu/infotech/resources/staff/academic-award/?nominatetype=self.

Closing date
Applications for a citation, teaching excellence or support service award are accepted up until 11th November 2011. Nominated staff applications deadline has been extended to Monday 21 November at 9am. Awards will be announced in early December.
