Aim and Scope:

The Australasian Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence is a successful event held annually to promote research in AI and scientific interchange among researchers and practitioners in the field of Aritificial Intelligence. AI'09 is the 22nd in the series.The conference is hosted by Monash University, Faculty of Information Technology and will be co-located with the Australasian Data Mining Conference (AusDM '09) and the Third Australian Conference on Artificial Life (ACAL'09). The conference will be held at the University of Melbourne, Melbourne, Australia, between 1 and 4 December 2009.

Theme/Topics:

Prospective authors are invited to submit original and unpublished work on all areas of Artificial Intelligence. The conference topics include, but are not, restricted to, the following:

AI Applications Grammar and Language Processing Neural Networks
Agents Intelligent Databases Planning
Artificial Life Knowledge Discovery Robotics
Bayesian Networks Knowledge Representation Soft Computing
Computer Aided Learning Logic Programming Statistical Learning
Constraints Machine Learning Vision and Image Processing
Data Mining Multi-Agent Systems  
Evolutionary Computing Natural Language Systems  


Language

English is the official language of the Conference.

Submission of Multiple Papers

It is our policy that under a standard registration fee that a limit of one paper per person will apply. For each additional paper submitted, an additional fee of $A300 per paper will apply.

Review Process

Papers submitted to the Conference will be reviewed by atleast three independent peer referees.

Papers accepted, rejected or requiring further revision and correction will be notified by the due date (18 August 2009).


Proceedings

Accepted papers will be published by Springer-Verlag in the Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence (LNAI) series.

Papers must be original, unpublished and have not been submitted elsewhere for publication.

Accepted papers without appropriate payment will NOT be published in the Proceedings.

It is expected that atleast one author of each paper must register for the Conference and present their paper.


Important Dates

Authors should note the following deadlines:

  • EXTENDED DEADLINE OF PAPER SUBMISSIONS: JUNE 30, 2009  
  • Notification of Acceptance of Paper: Extended August 20, 2009
  • Receipt of camera-ready copy: September 12, 2009
  • PLEASE NOTE: FOR PAPERS TO BE INCLUDED IN THE AI09 PROCEEDINGS, PAYMENTS MUST BE RECEIVED BY 29 SEPTEMBER 2009
