REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Thank you for your interest in registering for PRIB 2008. Payment can be made by using 'Monash University's eCart Store' which is a fully secure system, or via a bank draft. The registration and payment details are provided below.

Note:

• Registration for short papers is treated in a similar manner as regular papers. For example, a full registration of a short paper will be $685 before 3rd July (same as the full registration of a regular paper)
• All fees quoted include the 10% Goods and Services Tax (GST) levy from the Australian Government

Registration Entitlements

The three day conference registration includes the following:

• Attendance to all sessions
• Conference bag with materials for all sessions
• Morning/afternoon teas and lunches
• One ticket for the conference dinner

Conference Dinner

For non-registered participants (those who are not registered), a ticket for the conference dinner can be purchased separately at AUD$88.00 (inclusive of GST) per person.

PAYMENT METHODS

Please note that at least one author per accepted paper must be registered by 15th July 2008 in order for the paper to be published. For authors with multiple papers accepted, each subsequent paper can be registered at a discount fee of $330, provided that the same author is presenting all of the papers.

Payment for registration fees and for purchasing additional conference dinner ticket(s) can be made online or with a bank draft.

Bank draft via post to the PRIB Secretariat

• If you are paying with a bank draft, please make your bank draft payable to Monash University. Please complete a Bank Draft payment form and send it to:

If your bank draft is not received by 15th July 2008, your paper may not be included in the conference proceedings. Please allow adequate time to ensure the bank draft and bank draft payment form are received by the PRIB Secretariat on time.

To avoid delay of payment due to slow international mail delivery, we encourage participants to register online using the eCart system.

Cancellations and Refund Policy

Cancellations must be notified in writing to prib2008.melb@infotech.monash.edu.au. Please name the email subject as "Registration Cancellation", and include the paper ID(s) in the body of the email.

Cancellations before Friday 25th July 2008 will incur an AUD$330.00 cancellation fee. Cancellations after Friday 25th July 2008 cannot be accepted; however transfer of the registration to another person will be accepted.

All refunds will be paid after the conclusion of the conference.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

If registration and payment are made through eCart, an electronic receipt is issued upon successful payment.

If registration and payment are made using a bank draft, a receipt wil be available for collection from the registration table on day one of the conference; a scanned copy will also be sent to the payee via email upon successful processing of the bank draft.

VISAS

International visitors to Australia may require a VISA or an electronic travel authority. A general guide to whether a VISA is needed by a visitor can be found here. Further information on obtaining a VISA or electronic travel authorities can be found on the website http://www.immi.gov.au/visitors/index.htm.

If a delegate requires a VISA to attend the PRIB 2008, the delegate must first receive a Letter of Invitation from the PRIB 2008 conference organisers. To request for the Letter of Invitation, the delegate must first complete the registration payment as instructed above in the 'PAYMENT METHODS'. Then the delegate needs to complete a Letter of Invitation Request Form and send via email to the conference's Local Organization Chair: Dr Shyh Wei Teng. Please be advised to apply for a VISA at least 2 months before you travel to ensure the application can be processed in time. It is the responsibility of the individual delegate to ensure documentation is correct and complete before your journey commences.

INSURANCE

Participants carry their own risk for personal injury or loss of property, including baggage, during the conference. We srongly recommend that at the time of booking your travel and tours, you take out a travel insurance policy. This policy should take into account loss of deposit through cancellation, medical insurance, loss or damage to personal property, and financial loss incurred through disruption to accommodation or travel arrangements due to business failures, strikes or other industrial action. The organisers are in no way responsible for any claims concerning insurance.

The conference organisers reserve the right to change activities, topics and presenters where necessary. Monash University shall not be liable for any loss caused by the cancellation of the conference where such cancellation is due to Force Majeure. The term “Force Majeure” means any circumstance beyond the reasonable control of Monash University including but not limited to War, hostilities (whether war be declared or not), terrorism, aircraft hijacking, military operation, riot, civil war, rebellion, civil commotion or unrest, Acts or Regulations of government, refusal to grant visas, explosions, transport delays, transport difficulties and the insolvency of airline carriers. Monash University will use all reasonable efforts to conduct the conference despite the intervention or occurrence.
