Application process roadmap

Course Transfer
Current Monash University students - domestic and international If you are already enrolled in a Monash degree, and wish to transfer to another degree, please see How to apply for a course transfer
International students
International students International applicants, who are not currently studying VCE / IB in Victoria, should apply for on-campus undergraduate, postgraduate or research degrees through International Recruitment Services
International applicants who are currently studying VCE / IB in Victoria should apply for on-campus undergraduate study through Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC).  More information available from International Recruitment Services (IRS).
Domestic Undergraduate study
For semester one entry

All applicants must apply through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC)
In February 2010, the Faculty of Information Technology may accept applications via direct entry ONLY if there are Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP) places available.
Information on direct entry will be available on the Faculty of Information Technology website in early February 2010, or contact the Faculty of Information Technology Admissions Office.

Non Year 12 students for semester one entry Applicants with Certificate IV or Diploma study must apply through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) and must provide evidence of completion eg. An official completion certificate or an official signed letter of completion from the awarding institution.

Direct entry applications for semester two entry

Domestic students are required to submit an online application for entry into an undergraduate degree.  If you prefer not to apply online, you can download a hard copy (paper) application form.

If you are applying for a course transfer from your current Monash University degree, see How to apply for a course transfer.  Do not submit an online application.

Masters Honours degree -
Master of Information Technology Honours
Master of Business Information Systems Honours

Applicants must provide indication of research area interest upon submission of course application.  See How to apply for a masters honours degree.
Students currently enrolled in a Faculty of IT Masters degree who are seeking a course transfer to a Masters (Honours) course, must apply via the course transfer process.  See How to apply for a course transfer.  Do not submit an online application.

Graduate or Postgraduate Pathway Faculty of IT Awards -
Professional Certificate in IT
Executive Certificate in IT

Applications for the Professional Certificate in IT and the Executive Certificate in IT must be submitted through the Faculty of Information Technology.

Domestic Research degrees
Research degree applicants Applications for research degrees must be submitted through the Faculty of Information Technology Research Services.

Single Unit, Cross Institutional, Credit / RPL
To apply for a single unit and cross institutional study If you wish to study an individual unit, which does not lead to an award, please see How to apply for a single unit / cross-institutional study
Recognition of prior study Prospective students who have previously studied at a college, TAFE or university may be eligible for some recognised units to be credited towards their Monash degree.

Off-Campus study
Off-campus learning Students may choose to study at home via the off-campus learning mode.
