The Faculty of Information Technology Undergraduate Single Unit Pathway Bursary


The Faculty of Information Technology (FIT) is offering Undergraduate Single Unit pathway bursaries.  These bursaries are for future students who are offered a place in the FIT Single Unit Pathway.  The Pathway Program is designed for applicants who do not meet the normal entry requirements of an FIT Undergraduate (Bachelor) degree.

The bursary is a reduction of tuition fee cost per enrolled unit of $305, therefore reducing the full-fee cost per unit from $2,675 to $2,370.

NB:  The Undergraduate Single Unit Pathway Bursary is available to domestic students only. 
Eligibility for the Undergraduate Single Unit Pathway Bursary - applicants must be studying units from the Faculty of Information Technology first year common core range.

Monash University Conjoined Honours-PhD Scholarship

Eligibility

an Australian or New Zealand citizen or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa, or
-  an international student, and 
-  enrolled in an undergraduate degree at Monash, and 
-  commencing your final year* of full-time undergraduate study at a Monash campus in Australia in semester 1, 2010. 
*
 Final year of undergraduate study includes an honours year, the final year of a degree program with embedded honours units, or the final year of a professional degree for which students are awarded a degree ‘with honours’.  Students enrolled in masters (honours) programs are not eligible.

 

Postgraduate

Monash University and the Faculty of Information Technology Postgraduate Scholarships


Monash University Information Technology Scholarship

Eligibility:
an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa, and
studying Australian Year 12 or IB in 2009, or
a continuing undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) student, and
enrolled or intending to enrol, in any of the relevant Faculty of Information Technology’s degree programs at a Monash campus in Australia.

Graduate Bursaries

Eligibility:

Domestic students who have commenced their studies from semester 1, 2005 onwards and are enrolled in one of the following Faculty of Information Technology courses will be awarded a bursary.

Graduate and Postgraduate Certificates
Graduate and Postgraduate Diplomas
Executive and Professional Certificates

No application required.

Indigenous Scholarships and Bursaries

Monash University and the Faculty of Information Technology Indigenous Scholarships and Bursaries


Monash University awards a variety of coursework scholarships and bursaries for commencing or continuing Indigenous students. Further information regarding Monash wide scholarships please refer to the Scholarships at Monash website.

Non-Award Bursary for Indigenous Students
Indigenous students who do not satisfy the entry requirements for the Faculty of IT undergraduate degrees can apply to the Faculty to study, on a non-award basis, two (2) common core units selected from an undergraduate degree offered by the Faculty of IT.  A maximum of four (4) busaries each year will be offered which will cover the cost of tuition for non-award study.  Successful candidates will be selected based on academic merit.  
Entry into a Faculty of IT undergraduate degree will be approved after successfully completing the two (2) non-award common core IT units and satisfying the course prerequisites.

Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) in a Faculty of IT degree for Indigenous Students
There are two avenues in obtaining a CSP via this pathway.

  1. For applicants who meet minimum university entry requirements (ie. Year 12 or equivalent), but who do not have the required ENTER, and who complete the two (2) non-award units with a pass average of 50% or above, a CSP will be offered in the corresponding Faculty of Information Technology degree where prerequisite studies have been met.  This is consistent with University admissions requirements.
  2. For applicants without minimum university entry requirements and who complete the two (2) non-award units with a credit average of 60% or above, a CSP will be offered in a corresponding undergraduate degree offered by the Faculty of Information Technology where prerequisite studies have been met.  This is consistent with Faculty admissions requirements.

A maximum of four (4) CSP’s will be allocated for this pathway per year. 

Undergraduate Indigenous Scholarship offered by the Faculty of Information Technology:
Information Technology Indigenous Undergraduate Scholarship
Awarded to highest achieving Indigenous Australian Year 12 student based on their ENTER score or interstate or IB equivalent intending to enrol in an undergraduate degree with the Faculty of Information Technology at a Monash campus in Australia.

The Faculty of Information Technology Postgraduate Indigenous Scholarship:
Monash University Indigenous Archives Scholarship.
This scholarship is available to commencing students in Master of Business Information Systems, Master of Business Information Systems Professional or Graduate Diploma in Information Knowledge Management who identify as Indigenous Australians or Torres Strait Islanders.

 

International Scholarships

Faculty of Information Technology International Merit Scholarships


Faculty of Information Technology International Merit Scholarship 

Eligibility:
an international student studying Australian Year 12 or IB in 2009, or
-  a direct international course applicant, and
-  intending to enrol in an on-campus undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) degree in the Faculty of Information Technology at a Monash campus in Australia.

 

External Scholarships

Prime Minister's Australia Asia Endeavour Awards

A unique opportunity to establish your international career in Asia

The Prime Minister's Australia Asia Endeavour Awards are a unique opportunity to undertake international study and research related to an Australian degree, as well as gain international work experience through an internship or work placement, building a professional network in Asia.

The Awards are open to Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia studying an undergraduate or postgraduate degree.  The awards provide for between six (6) and twelve (12) months research or study, followed by an internship or work placement of between two (2) and twelve (12) months.  Applicants must begin the Award in 2010.

Award value:  Up to $40,000 - $60,000 toward travel and establishment allowances, tuition and internship contribution and travel insurance.
The priority destinations for these awards are:  China (including Hong Kong and Macau SARs), India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Republic of Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
