ACS Foundation Work Integrated Learning Scholarships

The ACS (Australian Computer Society) Foundation is inviting applications from Faculty of IT students for Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Scholarships, sponsored by Satyam Computer Services Ltd.

Scholarship Details

The WIL experience will include 6 months in India comprising approximately 3 months intensive college-based training and exposure to various IT methodologies and a further 3 months of practical experience, followed by 12 months WIL experience on return to Australia – total 18 months experience

The Scholarship will include travel, accommodation and a per diem for additional expenses., and upon return to Australia to undertake the WIL, the student will receive a tax free scholarship of $28 000 p.a.  The total of this scholarship is estimated at in excess of $50 000.

Undergraduate students (including Honours) who are completing their studies at mid year 2007 and students currently enrolled in graduate studies are eligible to apply for the 50 scholarships available.

Conditions

A number of conditions apply and students must meet all of those listed below:

  • must be Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident;
  • undergraduate applicants must complete their studies at mid year 2007;
  • graduate applicants must be willing to defer their studies for the duration of the scholarship;
  • applicants must have a GPA of at least a Credit average;
  • be able to work as a team member and show appropriate attributes relating to social skills, communication and motivation;
  • must be able to attend a selection process (at own cost) in Melbourne or Sydney during the week of July 2nd (to be advised by Company).
  • must have a current passport
