The 2007 Google Global Community Scholarship

for the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing

As part of Google's ongoing commitment to encouraging women to excel in computing and technology, we are pleased to announce the 2007 Google Global Community Scholarship to help students attend the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing Conference in Orlando, Florida from October 17 - 20, 2007.   Conference details can be found at  http://www.gracehopper.org/

A group of female students outside of the USA will be chosen from the applicant pool. We encourage women from throughout the world to apply. Each selected student will receive up to $2,500 USD for airfare, hotel, conference registration and other travel requirements.

Eligibility Requirements

Candidates must be:

  • Enrolled full time in their undergraduate or postgraduate study program in 2007 at a university outside of the United States
  • Studying Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or a related technical field major
  • Maintaining a strong academic background with demonstrated leadership ability

Please mention that you are applying for the Google Community Scholarship in the first sentence of the essay portion of your application.

Required materials for online submission will include:
- Name & Email
- Current and permanent address & phone number
- University name, faculty member contact information
- Answer to one essay question
- Resume/CV
- At least 1 letter of reference

All applications must be submitted by Monday, June 11, 2007.Results will be announced by email in early August 2007.
