Implementation Strategy

The BMS is currently being developed in the Faculty Office as part of a phased implementation program. The implementation of the BMS will proceed in accordance with the timeframe outlined in the Faculty's Operational Plan 2002.

Initial efforts to implement the BMS have been successful with Admissions, Student Services, Executive Services, Quality & Document Management Services, Research Services, Personnel Administration, Purchasing and International Operations achieving ISO 9001:2000 certification in November 2002.

Further implementation steps to be taken:

  • Obtain ISO 9001:2000 certification for the remaining departments and units within the Faculty Office;
  • Broaden the implementation of the BMS within the Faculty's administrative units;

The development and implementation of the BMS will require commitment from all Faculty Office staff. The business management system will require ongoing maintenance and review and will drive continuous improvement in business performance.
