The Faculty of Information Technology has recently undertaken a major strategic review of its courses to ensure the best outcomes for graduates. We are committed to delivering courses that are innovative and continue to be relevant to the changing needs of both students and employers. For 2008 the Master of Business Systems and the Master of Information Management and Systems degrees will include a range of specialisations or professional tracks selected from areas such as Business Application Development, Business Intelligence, Business Systems, Corporate Information and Knowledge Management, Enterprise Systems, and Library, Archival and Recordkeeping Systems.
In 2009 the Masters of Business Systems (MBS) and the Master of Information Management and Systems (MIMS) degrees will merge to create the Master of Business Information Systems (MBIS).
From 2008 we will introduce a number of new professional tracks into the MIMS and the MIMS Professional. We have also re-coded and revised the content of the former IMS units to FIT units.
You have the option of continuing with your current professional track or undertaking one or more of the new professional tracks.
We are holding the following Information Session to discuss the recent changes and answer any questions you may have.
After attending an information session and/or reviewing the information on your course webpage please select your units for 2008 and re-enrol via WES (Web Enrolment System) located at the following address:
Please ensure you enrol in a full load for both semesters one and two. This assists the school in unit planning, and increases the likelihood of a greater number of unit offerings.
If you require any assistance, please do not hesitate to seek advice from the Student Services staff in the first instance.
If you require further course advice please contact your Course Director, Dr Kerry Tanner on 9903 2626 or at kerry.tanner@infotech.monash.edu.au.
