Bachelor of Information Technology and Systems (BITS)

Re-enrolment for 2009 for Caulfield students

In 2006 the Faculty of Information Technology underwent a major strategic review of its courses to ensure the best outcomes for graduates. We are committed to delivering courses that are innovative and continue to be relevant to the changing needs of both students and employers.

The recent amendments to the Bachelor of Information Technology and Systems (BITS) include the following:

  • From 2008 the ‘no major’ BITS option was introduced. This option allows students the flexibility of selecting units from any of the units offered by the Faculty of Information Technology on any campus.
  • We have also refined the existing major options to specifically target the individual discipline fields.
  • An Industry Based Learning (IBL) component has been introduced.

Currently enrolled students who would be disadvantaged by completing their current major under the new course structure (i.e. would need to complete additional units) may complete their current major under the former course structure.

See the Course maps page for more information.
