The Faculty of Information Technology regularly reviews its courses to ensure the best outcomes for graduates. We are committed to delivering courses that are innovative and continue to be relevant to the changing needs of both students and employers.

From 2009, several specialised degrees have been re-structured.

The Master of Applied Information Technology (MAIT) program prepares students for work in the information technology industry at the highest levels. It provides students with a previous tertiary qualification in another discipline area, with the knowledge, understanding and skills to enable them to deal effectively with advanced issues in the application of information technology.

The Master of Information Technology (MIT) is a broad, flexible technical information technology program for students who have a first qualification in a technical information technology field. Specialisations are available in Data Management, Digital communications, Distributed and mobile systems, Intelligent systems, Internet and web application development, Multimedia systems, Network computing, Security and Software engineering.

The Master of Business Information Systems (MBIS) is a program which prepares students with previous qualification in any discipline, for careers in IT management, applications development, business information systems, information systems, information management, or knowledge management. Professional Tracks (or specialisations) are offered in Business application development, Business intelligence, Business systems, Corporate information and knowledge management, Enterprise systems, Library archival and recordkeeping systems.
