For New Staff Members
Welcome to the Faculty of Information Technology! Please follow the steps outlined below to gain access to the IT resources provided by Technical Services;

Overview of Computer Accounts
The Faculty utilises a range of different IT applications and systems on a day to day basis. Here is a brief summary of the different computer accounts available for Staff;
Authcate
This account provides access to “Monash Only” content, Web proxy access(for viewing external internet sites), Library and electronic resources, email and calendar.
Novell
Novell accounts provide access to the Staff machines, Network drives and printing.
E-mail
Email access is provided via the IMAP protocol and can be accessed via a Browser or E-mail Client
Calendar
Staff members can access the Monash Calendar using either the web interface or by downloading the client.
Modem
Dial in access can be requested by contacting the IT Service Desk
Other
- SAP:- Requests for SAP accounts have to be forwarded to the SAP central admin
- Callista: Request for Callista access must be forwarded to the Callista central admin
- SNG:- SNG is the Unix General Teaching environment.

How to obtain Computer accounts
New Staff members are required to be registered in the central SAP HR system before a computer account can be created. For more information, please refer to Staff Services.
For the purpose to extending computer access outside of specified contract periods, please download and complete the Computer Access Extension form (Word 220k) and drop it off at the nearest MyFIT service Desk.

Passwords
From time to time you may want to change your password. In order to do so please refer to Changing your staff passwords.
