Updates: The CoolCampus Steering Group has judged the entries to the competition and the winners will be announced on the 29th October 2004. Details for the prize-giving ceremony are as follows:

    Date: Friday, 29th October 2004
    Place: The Council Chamber, Building 3A, Clayton Campus, Monash University.
    Time: 1 p.m.
   
Light refreshments will be provided and winning entries will be on display.

CoolCampus is organising an Essay, Poetry and Art Competition to help define a vision of what the University of the Future will look like. Share your thoughts and creativity and inspire the world of what you think the university of the future will be like.

Entries must:

  • Be by a Monash University student. Competition is open to ALL Monash University students.
  • Be no more than 800 words for the essay and poetry and can be in any style - journalistic, rhyme, futuristic, experiential, etc. Art category can be in any form of hand drawing that is original, creative and inspired.
  • Address the theme "A Day at the University of the Future"

Theme: University of the Future

Prizes:

1st Prize: A PDA valued at over $400

2nd Prize: A USB memory stick valued at about $100

Encouragement Prize: Bookshop vouchers

Submission:

Entries should be submitted with a cover sheet stating full name, student ID, e-mail address and phone number.

Entries can be placed in the competition entry box at the Faculty of Information Technology

or mailed to CoolCampus Competition, c/o FIT, Caulfield, Monash University, Victoria, 3145, Australia

or through the feedback page with "CoolCampus Competition" as the subject.

Closing date: 5.00pm, Monday, 4th October 2004.

Following judging by a prestigious panel, winners will be announced by 29 October 2004 .
