Monash University Indigenous Archives Scholarship

Monash University, the National Archives of Australia and the Australian Society of Archivists Inc., are offering a scholarship for people who identify as Indigenous Australians or Torres Strait Islanders to undertake a Masters degree or Graduate Diploma specialising in Electronic record keeping and Archives.

This scholarship initiative is linked to the Bringing Them Home report, which recommended that Indigenous archivists be involved in archival projects that enable Indigenous people to locate records and that scholarships should be provided for Indigenous archivists who wish to gain professional qualifications.

Depending on the availability of funding in 2009, the Monash University Indigenous Archives Scholarship maybe offered again for semester 1, 2009.  This scholarship is a full equity scholarship for studies undertaken in the Caulfield School of Information Technology at the Caulfield Campus of Monash University. The degrees can be undertaken via on campus study or off campus learning and in full-time or part-time mode. Mentoring and internships will also be available for recipients of this scholarship.
Please contact the Faculty of IT Scholarships Officer for further details and availability of scholarship in 2009.

The scholarship

The scholarship will cover the full cost of course fees for the Master of Business Information Systems, (MBIS), or Master of Business Information Systems Professional (MBIS Professional), or the Graduate Diploma in Information and Knowledge Management (GDIKM).  This will be split pro-rata over the semesters it takes to complete the course- full-time or part-time.
