Bachelor of Computer Science (2006)

Honours degree of Bachelor of Computer Science - first year 2007

This course teaches leading-edge technologies with practical applications in industry.

As part of the Computer Science undergraduate degree, I completed two units in computer graphics which I noticed were in demand at one of the most prestigious CGI production-houses: Industrial Light and Magic (ILM). I chose Monash so I could gain the most well recognised credentials of any Australian based tertiary institute.

I decided to do an honours degree  to give me a better chance of getting into the research and development areas that interest me, such as computer generated images (CGI), motion pictures, and computer generated special-fx.

During the honours course we are given the opportunity to learn about and work with super-computers and large clusters of parallel computers. Plus, as honours students we have access 24-7 to our own computer lab which houses enough computers to accommodate each honours student, and ultra-fast internet, printer and scanner access.
