I graduated from the Informatics Institute of Technology, Colombo, Sri Lanka with a first class honours degree in Information Systems. The same year, I received the gold medal for best graduating student. Before commencing research at Monash, I worked as a software engineer at OPRO Lanka Pvt Ltd, Colombo.

I grew up in Mount Lavinia, a quiet suburb on the west coast of Sri Lanka. Mount Lavinia is home to the golden mile of beaches and S.Thomas' College which boasts a rich tradition of over 150 years - I'm proud to be numbered amongst its students.

My research is focused on artificial means of sustainable learning, understanding and long term memory. Extensions of contemporary unsupervised connectionist algorithms towards the development of a higher understanding of appication problem domains is the primary objective of my work. Sustenance of such an understanding is equally important, our interests in the architecture and operation of human long term memory seek to accomplish this.
