Funding:
SMURF 2000
Chief Investigators:
A.Prof. Frada Burstien
Student Investigators:
Mrs Suzanne Zyngier
Aims:
The aim of this exploratory research project is to examine and measure the current views, awareness, and knowledge management strategies of the top 1000 Australian companies. The research project will overview the present conditions in this sector in Australia. The preliminary hypotheses to be tested in this research follow. Other questions may arise through the analysis of the data retrieved. 1. The understanding of knowledge management in Australia is not a reflection of the concept as described in the Australian business press. 2. Australian organisations do not recognise knowledge as an asset. 3. Australian organisations are not developing strategies to manage knowledge. 4. Knowledge management is supported by and part of organisational Information Systems infrastructure. 5. Organisational culture does not impact on the management of knowledge.
