Summer Semester and Term 4 Important dates
1 September 2008
- Enrolments for On and Off campus and Off Shore partnered units accepted at your home School office. Please use the Enrolment Amendment form available from all school offices.
Note: School offices will continue to accept enrolments into on-campus units until the advertised unit start date, providing that classes have not yet commenced or quotas have been filled.
10 October 2008
- Closing date for submitting your summer semester enrolment application form for Off Campus Learning and Offshore summer units.
17 November 2008
28 November 2008
- Publication of Semester 2, 2008 results.
1 December 2008
Where the date for discontinuing a Summer unit (Census Date) outlined in the Units Offered/Timetable is prior to 1 December you may still discontinue by this date without penalty if:
• you have passed the unit in Semester 2 and no longer require to study the unit over Summer Semester, or
• if you failed the pre-requisite in Semester 2 and are unable to study the unit over Summer Semester.

Summer Unit Discontinuation Dates
You must complete an enrolment amendment form to discontinue a summer unit in order to avoid being charged for the unit and incurring a fail grade.
The census dates by which summer units must be discontinued are published on the FIT Summer web site under 'units offered/timetables'. It is essential that you note the individual discontinuation dates as backdating of discontinuations is not permitted and fees will be charged for unit enrolments that are not discontinued by the published discontinuation date set (apart from the exception for 1 December outlined above).
Students enrolled in supported offshore programs need to refer to the 'Information for Students' document, which you can obtain from the offshore partner.
Notes:
Discontinuation of summer semester unit enrolments will not be accepted via telephone, facsimile or advice from lecturers, you must submit your form at your School office by the census date specified in the ‘units offered/timetable’.
- Alternatively, if you are unable to attend the campus to discontinue your summer units, please email the student service office at your home campus from your Monash student email account.
- If you enrol into a Summer Semester unit, do not attend classes, and do not officially discontinue, you will incur unit fees or CSP (Commonwealth Supported Place) charges and a fail grade.
