Welcome to the Caulfield School of Information Technology Tutor/Teaching Assistant Application System.

Important Dates
Applications for Semester 2, 2006 are to be registered between : 22-5-06 and 2-6-06. (registration will be closed after 2/6/06)
Allocation Offerings will be made between : 19-6-06 to 23-6-06.
Semester 2 begins: 17-7-2006.

Tutors and Teaching Assistants
Tutors generally
  • work with undergraduate students in tutorial rooms, computer laboratories or studios
  • supervise a maximum of 20 students per tutorial group
  • attend each class every week for 1, 2 or 3 hours
Pay rates are set by CaSIT (according to Monash HR guidelines), please see the Tutor/TA Home Page for information. Tutors are allocated to tutorials by the Tutor and Teaching Assistant Coordinator, though recommendations and requests are made by Unit Leaders.

Teaching Assistants (TA) work in postgraduate/Masters by coursework units. Unit Leaders specify the TA's responsibilities. Pay rate is set by CaSIT (according to Monash HR guidelines) and is NOT the same as the tutor rate, see the Tutor/TA Home Page for current information. TAs are allocated by the Unit Leaders.
Tutor Training
All tutors (and TAs) are expected to complete the tutor training provided by the Tutor development program ( Faculty of IT). Exemptions will be granted on an individual basis - for example if you have successfully tutored for CaSIT or other higher education employers, or have teacher training qualifications.
