Web services offered by Online Services

The following online systems are maintained:

  • Unit filters
    Beginning with the full list of FIT units, students can filter their search by one or more parameters such as campuses, semesters, levels and study modes.
  • Document management
    Online repositories to store documents for easy access via the Internet. Includes quick account creation for Monash (using existing username and password) and non Monash access, version history.
  • Project management
    Online tool for tracking projects, sub-tasks, and modules. Allows Gantt charts, file attachments with versioning and detailed recording of statistics for each.
  • Staff directory
    Automatically generated lists of all current staff members. Contains filters by staff type and campus location. Staff can update information for themselves via MDS such as telephone numbers, research interests, publications, emails and room locations.
  • Monatar
    This tool is used to manage, plan and submit units for approval by the Faculty Board. Users can add information such as unit objectives, outlines, teaching staff, etc. and track changes throughout the design and approval process.
  • Online Service Desk
    Staff and Students can log web and IT support requests via this tool, which then automatically logs the details in the HEAT call logging system.
  • Image Library
    Tour our Faculty for print and web images stored in this online tool for easy browsing and access.
  • Permissions Management [restricted]
    Enables administrative management of user web and file access to any part of the website.
  • Web Statistics [restricted]
    Provides detailed analysis and reports of website traffic. Includes statistics such as unique visitor tracking, referring websites and search engine keywords used to reach the website. Specific requests for tracking can be set up and need reasonable lead time.
  • Online Surveys
    Online surveys on request and or by template are available.
  • SOE Design Requirements Collection/Reporting
    Software requests for the next teaching period can be entered in this system which uses standardised terminology for software.
